Is image manipulation allowed in the photo contest?

No.

Keep in mind:
  • Elements of the picture cannot be altered in any manner, including the following prohibited changes: adding, removing, rearranging, inversing, or distorting or removing subjects and/or objects from the image. Additionally, the following alterations, but not limited to, are not allowed: removal of dirt, bubbles, debris. Cloning or altering pixels, in any manner, is not permitted. Composite imagery is not acceptable.
  • Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is minor cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas acceptable. Any changes to the original photograph not itemized here or in the Guidelines are unacceptable and will render the Submission ineligible for a prize.
  • The Submission, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant.
Submit photographs that are real. We want to see the world through your eyes, not through the excessive use of photo editing tools.

We can not research every photo entry. However, if a photo is chosen as a finalist, it will be scrutinized for possible alterations and we will request the original file to verify no manipulation has taken place.
